Shoppers Help Queensland Flood Victims
West Perth outlet shopping mecca Harbour Town is doing its bid to help Queensland’s flood victims, urging visitors to the complex to kick in donations to help the relief efforts.
With a sister centre on the Gold Coast, Harbour Town Perth marketing manager Helen Smith said the impact of the disaster had hit home strongly with retailers.
“We are grateful that our Gold Coast complex escaped the flooding unscathed but the widespread nature and depth of the tragedy has compelled us to put the charity wheels in motion here in Perth,” said Ms Smith.
“Donation tins are scattered across the centre including Lorna Jane, Florsheim, Jeep and Intangible, and donations can also be made out our Centre Management office, and we’re confident shoppers will dig deep to help out with the cause.”
100% of the proceeds of the donations collected by Harbour Town Perth for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal will be disbursed to the people affected by flooding in Queensland Communities in December 2010 and January 2011.

Typo - New Concept Store

Adorable new concept store Typo has moved into outlet mecca Harbour Town in West Perth.

Part of the Cotton On group, Typo offers an array of gorgeous items including decal wall art, photo frames, funky bookends and clocks, decorative lanterns, stationery, and gift wrap.

Also recently opened at Harbour Town are Oakley, Kathmandu, R.M. Williams and Kate Hill.

Harbour Town marketing manager Helen Smith said Typo was already being sought-out by savvy shoppers.

“This is a one-stop home accessory, giftware and stationery shop that is riding the massive boom in interest in these types of products that say something about personal style while also being very functional,” she said.

“We are thrilled with all the new stores opening their doors at Harbour Town and Typo is no exception.”

Typo’s Ron Luff said the Harbour Town store was the second for the brand in WA.

“We have set up shop in Joondalup already and now in West Perth thanks to strong demand for our products nationally,” he said.

The store and the complex is open seven days a week, including until 9pm on Fridays and from 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

Welcome Kathmandu!

Travel and outdoor goods specialist Kathmandu has pitched a permanent retail tent at Harbour Town in West Perth, just in time to ensure those Christmas and summer outdoor adventures go off without a hitch.

The arrival of the popular brand to Perth’s well-known outlet mecca comes hot on the heels of R.M. Williams opening a store at the popular outdoor shopping complex that is already home to Rivers and Colorado.

Harbour Town marketing manager Helen Smith said the Kathmandu and R.M. Williams brands were being embraced by outdoor and outback-loving West Australians.

“These stores have been busy from the get-go which is in line with people ramping up their outdoor activities during summer, particularly with the holidays coming up,” she said.

“Their arrival at Harbour Town is great news for those who love adventure and getting back to nature.”

The store and the complex is open seven days a week, including until 9pm on Fridays and from 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

It will also be open on Boxing Day 2010 from 10am to 5pm.

To help care for the environment, Kathmandu’s online Outdoor Checklist suggests you:

- Plan your trip
- Walk on marked trails
- Camp in designated areas
- Camp at least 100m from lakes & streams
- Carry out all of your garbage
- Bury human waste in a hole 20cm deep and at least 100m from a water source

Perth's First Kate Hill Store Arrives

Perth has welcomed its first stand alone Kate Hill boutique with the Melbourne-based accessories brand recently opening at West Perth outlet mecca Harbour Town.

It’s the first time the brand – which features a distinctive collection of handbags, jewellery, wallets, accessories and luggage that embody affordable luxury – has established a boutique outside of the east coast of Australia.
“We focus on subtlety in our detailing and finishes; it's fashion with a twist and we’re thrilled to be bringing it to Harbour Town,” said Kate Hill marketing manager Kelly Austin.

“Our dream was to create stylish fashion accessories for women that were not only chic and glamorous, but also functional and affordable.
“The creativity has been inspired by our global travels, international trends and our own passion and flair for all things fashion. The collection offers pieces that will complement or update your wardrobe instantly.”
Harbour Town marketing manager Helen Smith said Kate Hill was a welcome addition to the outdoor shopping precinct.
“The Kate Hill boutique, with its stylish feel that’s a little bit girly while at the same time glamorous, adds to Harbour Town’s draw as a key fashion destination along with Simone Perele, Cue, Ojay and Portmans amongst others,” she said.
