West Perth outlet shopping mecca Harbour Town is doing its bid to help Queensland’s flood victims, urging visitors to the complex to kick in donations to help the relief efforts. With a sister centre on the Gold Coast, Harbour Town Perth marketing manager Helen Smith said the impact of the disaster had hit home strongly with retailers. “We are grateful that our Gold Coast complex escaped the flooding unscathed but the widespread nature and depth of the tragedy has compelled us to put the charity wheels in motion here in Perth,” said Ms Smith. “Donation tins are scattered across the centre including Lorna Jane, Florsheim, Jeep and Intangible, and donations can also be made out our Centre Management office, and we’re confident shoppers will dig deep to help out with the cause.” 100% of the proceeds of the donations collected by Harbour Town Perth for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal will be disbursed to the people affected by flooding in Queensland Communities in December 2010 and January 2011. |
